We are a small, family farm located north of Cedar City, Utah. We offer farm fresh eggs, raw honey, flowers, herbs and produce grown with natural and sustainable farming methods. Our chickens are fed organic grain and garden produce. They are often free-ranged, eating grass, seeds, and bugs. Sometimes, we have duck eggs available, which are green or cream colored. Our honey comes from our hard working bees. We use natural methods, so the honey will be free from chemicals and antibiotics. We don't use pesticides or preservatives on our flowers (which are used on the flowers purchased in stores). Chicks, ducklings, and rabbits are sometimes available to purchase, at the farm. The smells and the visuals this provides makes it a talking piece and people will want to share what they saw and experienced with other people. I will be able to greet and say "Hi!" to almost every person by working the oven. I have established relationships with local purveyors. I will also be promoting “Utah First” by using local ingredients whenever possible from my flour to my cheese and toppings I bring the ability to cater to any group of diners, which makes Fire & Slice Wood Fire Pizza very versatile. We have 1600 fruit trees, featuring 16 varieties of peaches, 6 apples varieties, 5 varieties of cherries, as well as apricots, nectarines, and plums. We raise 25 acres of row crop. We are famous for our daily picked fresh sweet corn. We plant the corn at 13 different intervals, a week apart so that it comes on fresh all summer long. We also raise 4 varieties of Tomatoes, 14 different peppers, sweet peas, green beans, cucumbers, cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelons, crenshaw melon,and honey lope melons. Kencraft, Inc. was established at the home of Ken & Marlene Matheson in Salt Lake City in 1969, with Panorama Sugar Eggs comprising the main product line. After a visit to a national trade show in Chicago in 1975, the business began a steady period of growth and moved into a dedicated production facility in Alpine, UT. Initially Kencraft continued with its line of Panorama Easter Eggs, as well as a line of royal icing flowers and decorations to be used in the wholesale bakery market. In the 1980’s, Kencraft expanded into what is currently its main product line, Lollipals. Lollipals are hand poured lollipops that are hand decorated with royal icing, using the distinctive Kencraft ability, which was the basis of the company’s success since 1969. The success of Kencraft at this time was based on the premise that a customer will be willing to pay a premium price for a premium-quality product backed by good, dependable service. As a manufacturer, our customers are the merchandise buyers for retail stores or buyers for other wholesale businesses. By giving our customers good quality and service, they have helped to pass along the quality to their retail customers, and the premise has proven to be a sound one. |
